A classic mad scientist type, Dr. Pretorius is obsessed with the Ducks—or rather, obsessed with the idea of capturing them to perform "painful experiments" on them.
After putting an entire town to sleep and replacing everyone with look-a-like robots, Pretorius fakes damage to the Migrator in order to keep the Ducks there overnight. He soon captures Wildwing, Mallory and Duke, preparing to dissect them for their genetic code; he plans to use that code to improve the lifeform he's created, the "Slor." However, Nosedive throws a wrench into that plan and rescues the sleeping town populace and his teammates, leaving Pretorius (and the Slor) to be taken care of by the human authorities.
